I have recent been designing again; Branding for a local band and a brewery. Both projects have a Norse runic feel and I created new bespoke fonts for each.
The band, Fenestrae, needed an iconic name and logo. All elements are handmade and original. I wanted it to be bold and legible.
Bear, Barker and Sun is a new independent Ontario craft brewery creating honey meads and IPA's. The need a brand logo and art for bottles and product.
Art therapy is healing for everyone ... no experience necessary!
London Arts Live is back, bringing art+music talent outside
The healing power of art is available to everyone
Art Therapy let's us release ourselves and create. It quiets the mind, lowers the blood pressure and improves hand-eye coordination. It also gives us, as adults, a chance to play and explore.
Whether you choose to paint subjects from real life, reference material, your imagination, or embrace raw colour, shape and texture of non-representative art, you'll be challenged to push and control the media, even while relaxing and easing that desire for control. Art is active meditation
I have experience working with all levels of artist, and I am very comfortable teaching people living with disabilities and senior citizens. No experience is necessary to fully benefit from art therapy sessions. Let me know if you'd like to give it a try.
I am available for daytime sessions this summer, weekdays at Art with Panache, in the Talbot Centre Mall. The gallery, mall parking and washrooms are wheelchair accessible.
I have had a hell of a year ... and I have been neglecting my blog.
In the last year, my dad's health seriously started to fail and he faded away in February. I was a victim of workplace abuse, and suffered social and emotional isolation. I lost my creativity for a while, and my business suffered. I experienced gut wrenching depression and almost gave up.
But, that isn't me. My struggles and woes don't define me. I have been incredibly supported by the amazing souls around me. I have been encouraged and loved. And I am refocusing on my art, and my community.
I am especially grateful to Art With Panache for all their help. And I feel truly honoured to have been offered a position as their new Marketing Manager. I hope you will check out the new site I recently built for them at:
Thanks to everyone who has been there for me this past year ... I couldn't have made it without you.
I have had a great time redesigning the AWP branding ... the previous version was feeling a bit dated, used too many colours (imo) and the good copy had been long lost. So, the above page of rough concepts contained the first kernel of the new logo (centre at bottom). I took this marker drawing and rebuilt it in Adobe Illustrator, creating a bezier .eps of the design and started massaging it towards a final version. Using bezier curves lets the finished design be infinitely scaled; it could be as big as a building without any pixelization or degradation in quality. The simplicity of this final design offers a variety of useful colour variants allowing for logo placement in many different situations without compromising the brand integrity (and legibility). Note: All fonts for this project are completely original.
Cherrilollipop found me ; twice
"I have been out making art on the streets of London the past two weekends; first at the Dundas Place Arts Festival & then Wortley's Gathering on the Green 2 ... and I got posted on Instagram both times (thanks Cherri/Allie). There are a few other posts I discovered from the past few year as well."

What is up with Nic and his paintings? Where can I check his art out? What does Nic think about stuff? This is the spot to find out the answers.
