Special Education Services
Cerebral Palsy & Parkinsons
Whether high functioning & independant or with an attendant, I am experienced teaching students with movement-related disabilities.
By creating art utilizing a student's unique mark-making, they will develop their individual style and create moving, expressive new paintings that are truly their own.
PTSD & Depression
Art has inherent benefits, as it quiets the mind & gently puts focus on self-determined creative expression - which is very empowering.
I let students find their own voice.
By encouraging painting freely, I let them express their own visions; without fear. I emphasize creativity over technical mastery or 'realism'.
Autism & Aspergers
I have friends and family on the spectrum, and feel very comfortable teaching students who are in need of special attention.
I always tailor each students lessons to help them achieve their own personal artistic goals. By encouraging self-direction I let the student choose their own path to art.
Visual & Hearing Impaired
I teach students with visual & auditory impairments. Though I don't sign in ASL, I have experience working with deaf students.
I like challenging expectations, and happily teach students with visual & hearing impairments, or anyone in need of special attention & consideration.
I just want to share art.
ADHD & Learning Disabled
I understand the challenges of engaging & entertaining these uniquely active minds. I am eager to explore; to find ways to connect with new artists.
I'm very aware of the diverse ways that different people learn. I am happy to create adaptive, personalized plans for each student's journey to express themselves.
